Great news wine industry folks - the winter funfest is back!

Walnut Beach Resort, Mt. Baldy Ski Resort, Cellar-Tek and Black Hills are pleased to announce that the 5^th Annual Winemakers Cup is taking place this upcoming March. As you may know, this is a great networking and social event for the Wine Industry that takes place on the slopes of Mt. Baldy by day and over numerous glasses of Vino or beer by night. Even if you don’t ski or snowboard, the evening events are great fun and a super way to let your hair down and have a few laughs with your peers in the wine industry. Music for the night will be the great dancing tunes of “Double Magnum”, featuring Peter Glockner and Dan Zepponi.

Here’s the line-up for what is in store.

Daytime: Mt. Baldy Ski Resort

• Join us for a fun day on the slopes or on the deck enjoying the sun. There will be a fun dual-slalom ski race with prizes being given out to Top Skier (Male & Female), Top Snowboarder (Male & Female), Top Telemarker, Best wipe-out and Worst times (Male & Female) as well as prizes for any kids that enter.
• Previous Winemaker Winners include: Bill Eggert, Fairview Cellars (2008), Steve Wyse, Young & Wyse (2009), Herb Alex, Jackson Triggs (2010) and Bill Eggert, Fairview Cellars (2011). Who will win the big trophy again in 2012???
• Registration starts at 9 am. Race Starts at 11 am. BBQ & Hanging in the Sun at 1 pm. Free skiing or Après skiing all afternoon long.
• Snow bunnies/Lodge Skiers- BBQ Lunch and commemorative T-shirt: only $35.00
• Race participants: Lift ticket, Race participation, BBQ lunch and T-shirt: only $65.00
• Race without Lift tickets (season pass holders): $45.00
• There will be optional snowshoeing lessons for anyone that would like to try it.

Night time: Walnut Beach Resort

• 6 pm to 7 pm “Winemakers Forum” Happy Hour. We will have some special iconic guests from the Wine Industry join us for a blind-tasting session as well as an interesting discussion on trends & opportunities in the wine industry today. Delicious and informative! No cost to join, just be sure to bring one bottle of wine per person.
• 7 pm to 10 pm. Winemakers Cup Dinner & Dance. Includes a gourmet 3-course dinner, wine pairings, awards presentation and the Music of “Double Magnum”
• 10 pm to ??? “The After-Party: Wine Industry Hospitality Suite sponsored by Cellar-Tek at Walnut Beach. Come and rub shoulders and socialize with Winemakers, Cellarhands, Vineyard staff and other industry folk. No cost to enter, cash bar.

• Walnut Beach is offering a special reduced price for Hotel rooms on the night of the event for only $89.00 per room, with a maximum of 4 people per room.

1. Choice One: Friday March 23, 2012. Ski Race during the Friday day. Social events from 6 pm onwards at Walnut Beach on Friday night.
2. Choice Two: Saturday March 24, 2012. Ski Race during the Saturday day. Social events from 6 pm onwards at Walnut Beach on Saturday night.
