New 'Osoyoos Dessert Festival' to be Launched this MonthOsoyoos, b.C. — The first-ever Osoyoos Dessert Festival, to be held later this month, will give residents and visitors a tasty and decadent sampling of the area’s best desserts and wines. Destination Osoyoos and the Osoyoos Indian Band (OIB) will co-host this premiere of what is planned as an annual gala event designed to showcase a variety of world-class wines from Osoyoos-area wineries and scrumptious ‘signature’ desserts created by chefs from a number of local restaurants. Besides the wine, the sweet-tooth delights and entertainment, the event will also feature First Nations foods and entertainment. The Osoyoos Dessert Festival will be held on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 27 at the BC Visitor Centre @ Osoyoos, at the junction of Highways 3 and 97. Destination Osoyoos CEO Glenn Mandziuk says in past years DO co-hosted an annual Salmon Bake with Osoyoos Indian Band, but this year the two organizations opted for the Dessert Festival instead. “It’s a chance to continue our strong relations with OIB and at the same time create a first-class evening event in Osoyoos during the off-season,” Mandziuk says. “It will also serve as a nice lead-in to all the events held during the Okanagan Fall Wine Festival, which starts on October 2nd.” There will be limited space available at the Dessert Festival, so those wanting to attend are urged to contact Destination Osoyoos (tel: 250-495-3366 or toll-free 1-888-676-9667) for tickets, priced at $30 per person. -30- For more Information, Contact: Destination Osoyoos
