Retired couple, Jim and Hilda Bloggs, have moved to an isolated country cottage in the South East of England. They are decent, houseproud and hopelessly behind the times. Jim hears on the radio that a pre-emptive strike is to be expected. With his government leaflets as his guide, he builds a refuge and gathers emergency rations.

Jim and Hilda emerge after the Bomb to find a devastated, post-nuclear, holocaust world. Expecting the Powers-That-Be to rescue them, they wait, but eventually drift gently into the darkness, loving each other and uttering fragments of prayer. This tale is clever, humourous, credible, and ultimately heart-breaking. For more information, visit SOAP Theatre’s website.
