Holiday Cheer is coming to Oliver & Osoyoos Wineries with Winter in Wine Country

Tasting rooms throughout Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country are preparing to embrace the holidays and welcome guests with two packed Winter in Wine Country weekends.

On November 25-27 and December 2-4, wineries will be donning festive decorations, offering mulled wine, lighting up the vineyards and providing countless gifting ideas for the whole family.

On Saturday, November 26 (12-4 pm), Nostalgia Wines will host a visit from Santa Claus with photo opportunities by donation as well as mulled wine or hot chocolate around a roaring bonfire and the chance to shop for local, artisan gifts and stocking stuffers in their 12 Days of Shopping Pop Up Artisan Market.

Tinhorn Creek Vineyards is encouraging guests to get creative on Saturday, November 26 (10 am-5 pm) with ornament decoration workshops, for a donation to local charity Desert Sun Counselling. Customize a tree decoration, sip on mulled wine and complimentary featured wine tastings and watch as the team lights up the vines in their demonstration vineyard at 4:30 pm.

Another twinkling holiday light-up will take place at Silver Sage Winery on Saturday, December 3 (4-9 pm) with thousands of sparkling lights, alongside complimentary appetizers, wine tastings and gifts for children.

Both weekends (11 am – 5 pm), vinAmité Cellars will offer a Cheese Fondue Party for guests; a complimentary 45-minute pairing of cheese fondue with wine tastings in a comfy, cozy atmosphere, with the opportunity to stock up on wine for festive dinners and gifts.

Many wineries are offering a wealth of gift inspiration — including Advent Calendars, featuring 12-bottles of mystery wines to sip and savour in the lead-up to the holidays available from Moon Curser Vineyards, River Stone Estate Winery, Road 13 Vineyards, Nostalgia Wines and Gold Hill Estate Winery (while stocks last).

Others offer beautifully packaged wine gift packs, local artisan tasty treats and trinkets, ready to purchase at the winery or to order online for delivery.

As part of the Winter in Wine Country festivities, Covert Farms will be keeping their communal fire pit ablaze for visitors to roast smokies, hot dogs and of course, s’mores and they will also be opening a winter slip-and-slide…yes, you read that right!

At French Door Estate Winery, holiday treats and festive drinks will be served on their heated patio, Adega on 45th will be accepting donations to the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and Ronald McDonald House, and Black Hills Estate Winery will be offering three curated gift sets available for purchase.

Other participants include Hester Creek, Culmina Family Estate Winery and Castoro de Oro Estate Winery.
