Come join us for the 2024 Meadowlark Nature Festival Rendezvous, an evening social event with guest speaker science journalist, Bob McDonald. Doors will open for the reception at 5:30pm, with Bob’s presentation at 7:00pm on the topic of his new book “The Future is Now”, a solutions-based response to our planet’s climate crisis. Plan on coming early to visit with Meadowlark friends and supporters while you enjoy complimentary charcuterie and a drink from the Venables bar (with an adult ticket).

Bob McDonald is one of Canada’s best-known science journalists, bringing science to the public for more than 40 years. In addition to hosting Quirks & Quarks, the award-winning science program with a national audience of nearly 500,000 people, McDonald is also a science correspondent for CBC Television’s The National and Gemini-winning host and writer of the children’s series Head’s Up. He also hosted The Great Canadian Invention, Wonderstruck, and the seven-part series, Water Under Fire. The host and writer of numerous television documentaries and more than 100 educational videos in Canada and the United States, McDonald has also authored five bestselling science books.

Presented each year by the Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Alliance (OSCA), the Meadowlark Nature Festival (May 16th-20th) showcases the spectacular natural wonders of the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys, offering over 50 tours including hiking, cycling, kayaking, traditional Indigenous storytelling, painting and writing workshops, and more. Leading Meadowlark tours are experts in their fields including ecologists, botanists, artists, Indigenous knowledge keepers, and adventurists. We are excited to host Bob McDonald as our keynote speaker for this year’s Festival. Find out more about the Meadowlark Festival at www.meadowlarkfestival.ca.
