One of the hidden gems of the Okanagan/Thompson, the Sycamore String Quartet is comprised of violinist Cvetozar Vutev (Concertmaster of the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra and first violinist with the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra); violinist Sandra Wilmot (violinist with the Okanagan and Kamloops Symphony Orchestras); violist Ashley Kroecher (Principal violist with both the Okanagan and Kamloops Symphony Orchestras); and cellist Martin Kratky (Principal cellist with the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra and second chair with the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra). In honour of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth the Sycamore String Quartet will present an eclectic program featuring Beethoven’s much-loved String Quartet Op. 18, No. 5. The program will also include other classic and contemporary works for string quartet including the poignant String Quartet No. 7, Op. 108 by Dmitri Shostakovich.
