Get outside in Osoyoos

SHARE

Come play outside with us! With the warmest lake in Canada, breathtaking scenery from lush vineyards to rolling desert hills, and a climate that makes it easy to get out and play practically all year long, Osoyoos has so much to offer when it comes to the great outdoors.

Here are a few outdoor activities you can take part in on your next trip to Osoyoos, BC

SUP

Stand up paddleboarding (or SUP) is a unique and relaxing way to get out onto the water. With some of the area’s best beaches within paddle distance, it’s a great workout AND an amazing way to experience Osoyoos Lake. Try some SUP yoga, or take a SUP tour. Explore at your own pace and reconnect with nature. Package deals are often available!

Fishing

Osoyoos Lake has wide variety of fish and close to 20kms of parameter shoreline to fish from! Get out there first thing in the morning, take advantage of great fishing, and enjoy the calm and quiet before the beaches get busier! We’ve compiled a great overview here on the types of fish and where to find them, so you can have a successful day on the water!

Just be sure to review all BC Freshwater Fishing info first, and ensure you have your license up to date.

Hiking & Biking

Hike through the natural wonder of the Mount Kobau area or stroll the historical Irrigation Canal Walkway. Trek through the desert in the cool of the early morning, in search of unique plants, birds and wildlife.

Cycle down quiet back-country roads, winding past quaint farms and wineries. For mountain bikers, go for the adrenaline rush on one of our mountain trails. While cycling, stop into one of our wineries or fruit stands and enjoy the best of the South Okanagan.

Boating & Water Activities

No trip to Osoyoos is complete without spending some time on Osoyoos Lake. Whether adventure is your thing, or you just want to see the sights from a new perspective, there are a number of options to help you get out on the water. Enjoy waterskiing, wake surfing, jetskiing, tubing, and more with many rental options available. Commune with nature in a kayak. Or go for a relaxing cruise with the family and take it all in!

Golf

Stunning surroundings and a temperate climate make the Osoyoos region ideal for golf practically all year round. Scenic and beautifully-designed courses for novice and experienced golfers, at two distinct golf destinations, complement the area’s unique desert habitat.

Skiing/Boarding

Baldy Mountain Resort is a hidden treasure. Ski or snowboard through the perfectly spaced glades or on Baldy’s groomed runs as you gaze at the beautiful backdrop of endless mountain peaks. The mountain is complete with a bunny hill and plenty of green runs, great for beginners of all ages. With more attractions being added for year-round fun, it’s an ideal stop for any family getaway!

Experience the great outdoors in Osoyoos! And of course, there are many beautiful beaches for when you’re ready to take it easy! Don’t forget to share your favourite #OsoyoosBC moments and memories with us on Instagram to be featured on our social and website.
