Enjoy live music at these 5 wineries near Osoyoos this summer

What’s better than enjoying a glass of wine on a warm summer evening? Enjoying one while listening to live music of course.

Every winery in the Osoyoos area offers a unique experience at its vineyard, and in the summer of 2022, many have added live music events to add to the ambiance.

If you enjoy listening to jazz with your rosé or discovering a new local Okanagan musical talent while tasting some white wine, then look no further.

We’ve gathered five wineries where you can enjoy complimentary or ticketed music shows routinely throughout the summer while sipping on some world-class vino!

Phantom Creek

One of the newer residents to the South Okanagan vineyards is inviting guests to join them every Friday until September in order to experience local artists from around the Okanagan while sipping some vino.

Phantom Creek’s summer music series will include local artists such as Rhindress Duo, Sean Waters, Aidan and Mandy duo, Jack and Jill, Badgentina and many more.

The music series will be held between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Fridays, which is the perfect way to kick off any weekend.

Hester Creek

While Phantom Creek is offering music for your Friday, Hester Creek has you covered on weekends.

The Okanagan Valley is home to an incredible array of talented and up-and-coming musicians. These musicians are carefully chosen by Hester Creek to suit its culture and vibe, according to the winery.

Hester Creek’s patio summer series will be running from 1-4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.

Guests can enjoy local artisan cheeses, fresh deli offerings and a glass of award-winning wine to go along with the complimentary musical entertainment on the patio.

Black Hills Estate Winery

There isn’t a better way to unwind and finish your Friday than at Black Hills Estate Winery this summer.

Just down the road from Phantom Creek, Aaron Loewen will be performing at the Wine Experience Centre at Black Hills throughout July and August, on Fridays from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Loewen is described as being a “gypsy jazz and swing musician” in the style of Django Reinhardt.

It’s the perfect opportunity to kick back, listen to live music and finish your week in style while enjoying a flight of wine!

Culmina Family Estate Winery

Culmina Family Estate Winery is inviting L’Apero in the Vineyard, a bi-weekly event that will be hosted through to August.

L’ Apero is the French custom of a casual, convivial gathering at the end of the day to enjoy the company of good friends and unwind over some light food and drinks.

Culmina is encouraging guests to come get to know the team while enjoying delicious canapés, award-winning wines, live music and unbeatable views of the South Okanagan.

Unlike the previous three events on this list, L’Apero in the Vineyard is ticketed, costing guests $30.00 each.

A schedule of Culmina’s live music events can be found here.

District Wine Village

The District Wine Village is offering a multitude of events over the course of the summer, including night markets, dinner series, art exhibits and of course concerts.

The Wine Village will have a variety of musical events throughout the summer, ranging from complimentary shows up to some big name artists such as Matthew Good, Emerson Drive and Kim Mitchell.

The bigger artists are ticketed events and will function more like concerts and run into the night, whereas other shows will feature local artists playing live music during the afternoon.

Either way, it will be a hotspot for visitors to try a variety of wines, spirits and beers while taking in the Okanagan heat and enjoying some tunes!

A full schedule of live music concerts and events being held at the District Wine Village can be found online here.
