How to Make the Most of a Weekend in Osoyoos

No plans for the weekend? Why not take a trip to Osoyoos BC? Osoyoos is just a 4 hour drive from Vancouver or Creston in British Columbia.

As an all-season resort community, Osoyoos has so much to explore and experience. Be sure to plan ahead by booking accommodations and experiences before your trip. Here are just a couple of ideas on how to spend a weekend in Osoyoos!

FRIDAY

Afternoon: After you arrive at your hotel, motel, or resort – why not explore Osoyoos by foot? Each of our accommodations are within walking distance to our many lakeside parks, beaches, and trails.

Evening: While you can go out and enjoy the many dining options in and around Osoyoos, you might want to take it easy and dine in! Many of our accommodations have full service suites, so you can enjoy the local flavours of the South Okanagan. Or, grab some take out from one of our many restaurants for a casual night in as you watch the sun set over Osoyoos Lake.

SATURDAY

Morning: Visit the Lake Village Bakery to pick up a baked pastry like their infamous croissants or cinnamon rolls. If you’ve got an even sweeter tooth, check out Sugar Quail Bakeshop for cakes, donuts, and deserts!

Then, take your breakfast al fresco and enjoy a morning walk down Lakeshore Drive – a 5km paved pathway following Osoyoos Lake on one side, and our local campgrounds/RV parks, vineyards, and orchards on the other!

Afternoon: Once you’ve fueled up for the day, it’s time to enjoy one of the dozens of wineries in the Osoyoos and Oliver or Similkameen wine regions. While it’s impossible to visit them all in one day (there are over 50 to enjoy!) plan to stop at 3 or 4 for a full day of fun. Just be sure to sample responsibly and take a break for lunch – many of the wineries have restaurants available on site.

On your way back from wine touring, head to Main Street to enjoy the quaint yet lively shops of downtown. Osoyoos has many great options, from beachy boutiques to upbeat home stores – be sure to stop at the Osoyoos Home Hardware, Wander Home, Unity, and Cheek’s Beachwear to name a few! On Saturdays, don’t forget to check out the Osoyoos Market on Main from 9am – 1pm at Market Square!

Evening:
It’s time to enjoy one of the many spectacular restaurants of Osoyoos.

From unique Indigenous fare at The Bear, The Fish, The Root, The Berry at Spirit Ridge to lakeview dining at 15 Park Bistro, Osoyoos has many options to please taste-buds of all types!

And the fun doesn’t stop there. Visit the Owl or Sage Pub for a casual night cap, or enjoy a local pint at North Basin Brewing Co.

SUNDAY

Morning: Stop at Junction 3 Coffeehouse, where you can enjoy lattes, macchiatos, and more on their outdoor patio or in one of their iconic bubbles!

On your way out of Osoyoos, be sure to stop at one of the many fruit stands off each of the major highways to take home some of the Okanagan’s finest bounty!
