Six Ideas for Winter Date Activities around Osoyoos

It might be chilly outside in Osoyoos these days, but that doesn’t mean you can’t heat up your romance!

While shorter, drearier days can discourage people from venturing out during the wintertime, we feel it is the perfect setting for trying an activity with a loved one that you might not be able to enjoy at other times of the year.

In order to inspire your next perfect date, here are a few suggestions on where you can take your loved one while enjoying Osoyoos during the winter season.

Go for a Skate

Ice skating is a quintessential wintertime experience, and it only gets better when you can enjoy it with someone special.

Throughout the winter, Sun Bowl Arena in Osoyoos opens its doors for public skates multiple times a month! So grab your skates and your sweetheart and get out on that ice!

Show off Your Bowling Skills

Bowling is a classic date idea that shouldn’t be forgotten! It also is a good reason to get out of the cold for an indoor activity.

Whether it is a first date or a long-term anniversary, bowling is always a great way to strut your stuff…or lack thereof.

Kobau Lanes is a great way to strike gold with a good date idea.

A spa day is never a bad idea. A couples spa session is a fantastic indoor date idea to celebrate a special occasion or to relax and rejuvenate together.

Osoyoos has a handful of spas that can help you and your loved one relax for a special activity together. Levia Wellness Spa, Heaven on Earth, and Solterra Desert Spa are all places that will take great care of you!

Seasonal Sipping

A list of date ideas in Osoyoos can’t be posted without mentioning wine tasting. While many of us associate visiting the Osoyoos wineries with summertime — where you are destined to hear terms like “patio pounder” or “summer sipper” — it is in fact a year-round activity with many of the local tasting rooms staying open through the winter months.

Picking a couple of wineries to try winter wine tasting is a great way to spend a romantic day with a loved one! The wineries aren’t as busy so you might have the place all to yourself, the snowy scenery is stunning and the right pairing can give that perfect cozy vibe!

Ski Day

Ok, emphasis on the ‘around’ Osoyoos part here, but with Baldy Mountain Resort only an hour away from town, a day on the slopes is always in play.

Those perfect bluebird ski days that include a golden sunset will certainly leave a lasting impression on date day. And if it is a first date, just think about all that quality “getting to know you” time you will have on the chairlift rides.

Combine Tubing and Snowshoeing

Not a skier or snowboarder? Not a problem, Baldy Mountain Resort is a perfect destination for a couple other winter date ideas that should be considered!

The mountain opened up a brand new Tube Park this year that is loads of fun, especially because you can slide down together in their double tubes.

In order to make a full day out of it, you can block off some time to go snowshoeing on the trails as well, with options for beginners and experienced alike. Snowshoeing is a great activity for those who want to go at a slower pace and take in Baldy Mountain’s incredible views!
